District-Level ASHA Convention 2025 held at Bishnupur

A one-day District-Level ASHA Convention 2025 was held today at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur, to honour the key role played by ASHA workers in building a healthier society.
The event was organised by the District Health Society, Bishnupur.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, highlighted the immense contributions of ASHAs in strengthening community health.
She acknowledged their dedication in activities ranging from immunization and maternal care to handling disease outbreaks and spreading awareness during epidemics.
The DC lauded them as the "real leaders of the community".
Pooja further stressed the importance of ASHAs staying well-informed, vigilant, and maintaining close coordination with other healthcare workers for the betterment of society.
The state's low infant mortality rate, she noted, stands as a clear indicator of the hard work and commitment of ASHA workers.
"To attain a healthier district and state, let us all contribute our best," she added.
As part of the program, the district's Best ASHA Award was presented, and ASHAs who have served for many years were also felicitated for their dedication.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief Medical Officer Dr L Raichandra Singh, State Nodal Officer (ASHA), SHS Manipur Dr Jubilee Wahengbam, District Family Welfare Officer and District Nodal Officer (ASHA) Bishnupur Dr L Kuber Singh, District TB Officer Dr S Brojen Singh, and Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bishnupur Dr Kh Satyabala Devi.
