Imphal, July 01 2025: The Special Court NIA Manipur 1 on Monday remanded Samuel Thongcianhao Vaiphei, an accused in drone bombing at Koutruk and Kadangband on September 1 last year, to judicial custody till July 13 .

Notably, the incident occurred on September 1 last year, at approximately 2.30 pm, when Kuki militants carried out a drone bombing and intense firing at Koutruk Ching Leikai, killing a 31-year-old woman and injuring her 9-year-old daughter.

Samuel Thongcianhao Vaiphei of L Lumlui village, Leimakhong Kangpokpi district was arrested by National Investigation Agency Imphal Branch on June 22 this year.

The Special Court NIA Manipur Number 1, after hearing the submission of Special PP NIA and on perusal of the case record remanded the accused suspected to be a cadre of a Kuki militant group to judicial custody till July 13 .
