CAU wraps up training on 'Scientific Dyeing of Natural Fibers'

A two-day hands-on training programme on "Scientific Dyeing of Natural Fibres (Cotton, Banana, and Pineapple Yam & Fabric), Washing Process, and Block Printing" concluded yesterday at the Central Agricultural University (CAU) headquarters in Imphal.
Organised by CAU Imphal's Directorate of Research and sponsored by ICAR-CIRCOT Mumbai, the programme equipped participants with practical skills in color dyeing, washing, and block printing to foster entrepreneurship and income generation.
The valedictory function drew dignitaries including CAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra, Director of Instruction Prof N Brajendra, Director of Extension Education Prof Ng Iboyaima, Dean of the College of Agriculture Prof K Nandini, and Director of Research Prof LM Gamayak.
Participants received certificates and training materials.
Dr Tourangbam Shantibalana, Deputy Director of Research, explained that the two-day programme aimed to teach colour dyeing, washing, and block printing to help trainees easily earn money and become entrepreneurs.
Notably, a previous training programme on "Scientific Natural Silk Dyeing & Yam Extraction Process", organised by the CAU Directorate of Research, was also attended by Chief Minister Y Khemchand, who interacted with the trainees.
