IGAR (South) Major General AK Choudhury, SM, VSM today interacted with youth drawn from all the districts of Manipur during a programme on AIR Station Imphal today.
During the interaction programme which lasted from 11 am to 12.30 pm, the youth posed a variety of question ranging from the role of Assam Rifles and its contribution in the development of the State to the recruitment policies, according to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The IGAR (South) conveyed that the youth of Manipur are extremely talented and one of the best in the country and able to adapt to all situation.
He advised them to work for the development of the State and make the State a peaceful place to live in so that Manipur is able to undergo all round development and be able to compete with other States in all fields, the PRO said, adding that positive changes taking in the society were also highlighted during the programme.
The interaction was followed by lunch at HQ IGAR (South) at Mantripukhri.
After the lunch, the youths were shown IGAR (South) museum where they got an opportunity to know about the historical heritage and culture of Manipur apart from other things.
A weapon and equipment display was also conducted by the 39 Assam Rifles at Mantripukhri and it was followed by conduct of firing at firing range for the participants.
All the boys, girls and All India Radio staff present had a unique experience of firing with rifle, the PRO said, adding that every one was extremely delighted for having got an opportunity for such types of interaction, the PRO said, adding that it was heartening to know that today more and more youth both boys and girls aspire to join Armed Forces and Assam Rifles.
