Imphal, March 30 2026:
The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has issued a stem warning today against enrolling non-indigenous people or "foreigners"- into Aadhaar and electoral rolls for personal gain, demanding immediate corrections to avert public action.
The AMSU's 46th Realisation Month, themed "Realise to Save the Indigenous Peoples of Manipur", continued today with academic campaigns at Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School (Uripok), Royal Academy of Advance Learning (Top Siphai), and SI School (Canchipur), spreading awareness on preserving indigenous heritage.
During the campaign, AMSU secretary general Salam Changkhonba stressed that protecting Manipur from outsiders is every citizen's duty, not just the government's.He called for an end to sheltering non-locals, enrolling them in official records, and urged reporting suspicious cases to authorities for lawful deportation.
Changkhonba emphasized public-government coordination to avoid harming future generations, warning that offenders would face "strong lessons" from the public if unheeded.
The events were attended by Chanam Somendrajit, assistant teacher at SI School; Moirangthem Sanamatum, assistant teacher at Royal Academy of Advance Learning; and Huidrom Punsiba, AMSU secretary of organisation, along with many students.
In tandem, AMSU announced State-Level Open Competitions for the ongoing Realisation Month (March 17-April 17):
