After five days of brainstorming discussion on various weighty issues, the 6th Manipuri National Convention hosted by North East Students' Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Identity (NESCOCOMI) concluded at the complex of inter-State bus terminus, Silchar along with taking four different recommendations.
The recommendations include collective stand of the people living in North East region on any common issue, working toward bringing about a change in the existing education system for the better, to exert pressure for re-introduction of Inner Line Permit system in the North East to stop influx of outsiders and to bring about a cultural revolution toward cementing the bond of unity among the Manipuri people living in different parts of the North East region.
The concluding function of the convention was attended by Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Shyamkumar as chief guest and president of NESCOCOMI Oinam Maniton Singha as functional president.
MLA Salam Joy Singh, UCM president AK Langamba, member of Manipur Human Rights Commission Ng Nongyai, chairman of Lala Town Committee Konsam Somorjit Singha and senior citizen of Silchar Keisham Babu Singh were also present at the occasion as special invitees.
