IDM, school authority resolve to provide free education to children of violence victims

Imphal, January 28 2026:
The Indigenous Development Mission (IDM), in collaboration with the Loyalam Public School Authority and representatives of UKC Club Saiton, Heiyaikon Philanthropic Club, Meira Paibis and members of Self Help Groups (SHGs), convened a public meeting on January 25 at the residence of Soibam Sanjoy in Saiton, Bishnupur district.
The meeting was held to deliberate on providing free education to the children of Nongthombam Indubala, who sustained injuries in the January 5 bomb attack allegedly carried out by Kuki militants.
The agenda also included extending educational support to the children of Nongthombam Bishoranjan, who suffered bullet injuries during the Kuki militant attack in 2025 .
The meeting was presided over by Laimayum Manimohal, with the Pradhan of the locality attending as chief guest.
After thorough deliberations, the gathering unanimously resolved to provide free education to three children of the two victims till Class XII at Loyalam Public School, with the consent of the School Authority, IDM and the parents concerned.
The support package includes free school admission, exemption from monthly tuition fees, and provision of free uniforms, books and boarding facilities.
The gathering further resolved to extend all possible support in the future through local clubs, Meira Paibis and community leaders to the affected families.
