Sit-in demands justice for Seema Sahani

Imphal, June 27 2025:
A sit-in protest was staged today at Naharup Thongkhong Ima Keithel demanding justice for Seema Sahani, who was found dead at her own home at Keikhu Maning Leikai during the intervening night of June 21 and 22 .
The sit-in organised by Apunba Nupi Lup Kshetrigao Kendra was participated by a large number of women and Meira Paibis from different villages of Kshetrigao AC.
Seema Sahani was found slashed on the neck by a sharp object while she was sleeping on her bed.
An FIR has been registered at Porompat Police Station to ascertain the facts and circumstances of the gruesome murder.
At the sit-in, the protestors strongly condemned the brutal killing of Seema Sahani and urged the authorities concerned to deliver justice and take stringent action under the law against the culprits.
Expressing concern over the increasing cases of violence against women & children, they also urged the Government and relevant authorities to take necessary steps to combat crimes against women & children.
Later, the protestors shouted slogans such as "We condemn violence against women", "We condemn the brutal murder of Seema Sahani", "Punish all involved in the murder of Seema Sahani", etc .
They also submitted a complaint letter to the Porompat Police Station demanding legal action against the culprits.
Apunba Nupi Lup Kshetrigao Kendra secretary P Anita, Naharup Mayai Leikai's Meira Paibi leader L Sharmila, social worker Kshetri Tama Devi and Ima Jano, leader of minority Muslims were also present at the sit-in .
