Ningol Chakkouba celebrated with warmth in Tripura

Thoubal, October 26 2025: Ningol Chakkouba, the cherished festival that celebrates the sacred bond between brothers and sisters, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Abhoynagar Puthiba Shanglen Lampak in Tripura on Saturday.

The celebration was organised by the Manipuri Co-Cultural Forum (MLCF), Agartala, with support from Puthiba Welfare & Cultural Society and Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup.

The event was graced by MP of Rajya Sabha, Rajib Bhattachaijee as chief guest; Mayengbam Abhiram, president of the Manipuri Co-Cultural Forum as functional president.

Former Director of JNM Dance Academy, Upendra Sharma; Sahitya Academy New Delhi, Manipuri Language Board member, AC Netrajit; Social Activist H Priyokumar; GS of the Forum Longjam Arun Samarendra; secretary of Puthiba Welfare, Sinam Deepak Kumar; MLCF secretary Khoisnam Mangal, and councillor of AMC, attended as guests of honour.

More than 100 Ningols coming from various parts of Tripura attended the ceremony.

They were presented gifts and a ceremonial feast, symbolising love, respect and blessings.
