Government urged to provide assistance to flood affected victims

Imphal, October 25 2025:
Imphal East Zilla Parishad's former Up-Adhyaksha Kshetri Tama has urged the Government to provide due relief and assistance to locals of Kshetrigao Assembly who were affected by floods this year.
She made this appeal during the distribution of relief materials at Keikhu Kabui Khun community hall today.
The relief materials were provided by Nestle India Limited, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission and Bosconet.
A total of 256 households received the assistance.
The programme was supported by the Lungcham Village Level Federation, Apunbana Pangalni VLF and Kongba Nongthombam Leikai VLF .
A medical camp was also organised under the aegis of Imphal East Chief Medical Officer.
At the event, Kshetri Tama said the State faced flood four times this year and Kshetrigao AC is among the places affected by it.
The recurring floods affected many households and acres of paddy fields.
However, the farmers who have lost crops have not been provided any assistance or compensation by the Government yet, she said.
She urged the Government and its relevant authorities to conduct the necessary survey to assess the damage caused by the floods and compensate the victims at the earliest.
PHC Akampat Medical Officer Dr K Joychandra, Kangleipak Cluster Level Federation vice president Ksh Prabha and Cluster Coordinator Ishorchandra among others attended the event.
