Nine UGs held; phones, bike, ID papers seized

Imphal, July 24 2025:
Security forces arrested nine UG cadres of different armed outfits from various parts of the state, recovering mobile phones, motorcycle and identification documents from them.
As per a release by Manipur Police Control Room, a UKNA cadre identified as Koythong Khongsai (29) of Muolphei Khoupum, Tamenglong district was apprehended from Sugnu-Chandel road under Chandel police station on July 21.A mobile phone with two SIM cards, one PAN card, Aadhaar card, voter ID, ATM card and Royal Enfield Classic (MN 02B - 0428) each were recovered from his possession.
On July 22, the arrest include one cadre each of PREPAK and PLA from a forest area between Border Pillar 73 (10) and (11) under Moreh police station.
The PREPAK cadre is identified as Thingam Amujao Singh alias Munal (57) of Kakching Khunou, and PLA cadre as Kangjam Motea Meitei alias Tamthouba (33) of Gwaltabi Lamlai Khul.
The same day, an RPF/PLA cadre identified as Waribam Ajoy Singh alias Leishemba (25) of Tellou Mayai Leikai was rounded up from Langol Meitei Leikai Zone -III, along with recovery of a mobile phone.
Another UG cadre identified as Hidangmayum Naocha Sharma (35) of Bishnupur Ward No.8, presently residing at Sayang Bori Leirak, was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of involvement in extortion activities.
A KCP (PWG) cadre, Sanabam Ibungo Meitei alias Langamba (27) of Yairipok Top Chingtha Maibam Leirak, was also nabbed from near Maharabi oil pump along with seven extortion letters of the outfit, a mobile phone and other items.
On Wednesday, security forces apprehended a PREPAK (PRO) cadre named Sorokhaibam Olen Meitei alias Thoiba alias Okngakpa (18) of Chai-ren Mayai Leikai, Kakching district, from Tabungkhok Sagei Brick Field.
Two mobile phones have been recovered from him.
Two cadres of the KCP (Taibanganba) identified as Konjengbam Kanta Meitei (23) and Sanatomba Aheibam alias Sana alias Tomba (24), both from Takyel Khongbal were rounded on Wednesday.
Kanta was apprehended from Khoyathong and Sanatomba from Takyel Khongbal Khumanthem Leikai.
Both are accused of involvement in extortion from educational institutions, government departments and public.
The recoveries from the duo include three mobile handsets, Rs 8,220 cash from a wallet, PAN and Aadhaar cards and another sum of Rs 22,000, suspected to be extortion money.
