Student with cerebral palsy felicitated for academic excellence in Jiribam

Achievement of Rising Maiden (ARM), Manipur organised a felicitation ceremony to honour Binila Khumukcham, a student living with cerebral palsy, for her remarkable academic achievement in the Higher Secondary Examination 2016, conducted by the Council of Higher Education, Manipur (COHSEM).
Binila Khumukcham, a resident of Babupara, Jiribam, secured letter marks in Computer Science and passed the examination in first division.
She was felicitated in a simple function held at the Institute for Children with Disabilities (ICD) Hall, Lakhipur.
The programme was attended by Jiribam SP, Prakhar Pandes; DI ZEO Jiribam Lukram Roshan Meetei; and Meiree Club Lakhipur, president Haorokcham Brojen; who graced the occasion as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest SP Prakhar Pandes emphasised the need to treat persons with disabilities with dignity and encouragement rather than discrimination.
He lauded Binila's achievement, attributing her success to her determination, perseverance, and the unwavering support of her parents.
The organisers presented Binila with an appreciation certificate, a trophy, and a cash award in recognition of her achievement.
