28 assistant electricians leave for Goa

Imphal, February 24 2025:
Twentyeight assistant electricians who bagged placements in Goa after receiving training at Bhubon Technical and Skill Development (BTSD) Pvt Ltd under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) have left Imphal today.
They were flagged off by N Bandana (IAS), Secretary, Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship (SLEE) at BTSD campus located at Lamdeng Khunou, Lamshang.
Offer letters were distributed to the 28 assistant electricians, including IDPs, before being flagged Off.
Addressing the gathering, N Bandana said that in the interest of the internally displaced persons, the India Government sanctioned training for 6000+ youths under PMKVY, out of which training has been given 4500 so far.
Speaking about the unemployment problem in Manipur, N Bandana said that over 2 lakh youths are registered at the State Employment Exchange in search of jobs.
There are approximately 80,000 Government jobs in Manipur but the number of vacancies is quite small.
As a result, she urged the youth to partake in employment linked skilling programs.
Pointing out the huge gap in supply and demand with regards to employment in Manipur, she expressed belief in the potential of the youth to bag jobs in India and abroad when equipped with the proper training/skills.
This will not only provide employment to the youth but also help in improving the financial condition of their households, she said.
In consideration of students participating in the skilled development program, the Government is planning to set up a Migration Support Center.
Additionally, efforts are underway to launch projects to assist skilled participants in acquiring visas, passports and lodging facilities abroad, said N Bandana.
Meanwhile, Naorem Nabachandra, Chairman, BTSD Pvt Ltd, shared that between March 2024 and January 2025, 540 people were trained, out of which 316 have been placed.
He said that the Institute is committed to providing employment to youths in the future and sought the public's cooperation in their endeavour.
