Diamond Donors extend financial aid to family of child injured by stray bullet

Imphal, January 24 2026: In a gesture of humanitarian support, Diamond Donors have extended financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the family of one-year old Elangbam Thoithoiba, who sustained serious head injuries after being hit by a stray bullet allegedly fired by unknown persons during New Year celebrations.

Speaking during the visit, the Managing Director of Diamond TV and Wahong Radio said that Thoithoiba's parents, Elangbam Thoiba (32) and Lakhirani (26), originally hail from Jiribam.

Owing to ethnic violence in the State and the destruction of their house, the family has been living in a rented house at Naoremthong.

He said that upon learning about the severe financial hardship faced by the family, particularly in bearing the medical expenses of the injured child, the Diamond family decided to extend monetary assistance to help them cope with the situation.

He also expressed gratitude to Emashi Sorojini, Meitei Nongsha team, Longjam Eche Tombi, Senjam Sorobala from Australia and other well-wishers who generously donated to the cause.

He further urged the authorities to identify the culprit involved in the incident and ensure that strict action is taken as per the law.
