Mass tree plantation, cleanliness drives conducted

Imphal, September 22 2025: Imphal East District United Clubs' Organisation (IEDUCO) in collaboration with United Chingtam Club Association (UCCAN) successfully conducted a mass tree plantation drive at Sinam and Uyumpok in Imphal East district today.

The mass tree plantation drive was organised under the aegis of All Manipur United Club's Organisation as part of the Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Thabum (month-long memorial observation of Lamyanba Irabot) .

The plantation drive held at Sinam was conducted in collaboration with Sinam Youth Development Club and witnessed participation of the club's president Huiyam Premkumar, general secretary Phuritsabam Premraj and locals of the area.

While the drive held at Free Progress Academy ground in Uyumpok was participated by Friend Union Club, Uyumpok president Heikrujam Ibungo, general secretary Wahengbam Inao Singh and other members of the club.

IEDUCO president Kh Orendro, UCCAN president H Khoikhoi, UCCAN general secretary Angam Kom, IEDUCO secretary organisation Th Naobi, IEDUCO assistant secretary publicity H Roben and North Eastern United Clubs' Organisation (NEUCO) general secretary K Paka also actively participated in the mass tree plantation drive.

Moreover, a cleanliness drive was also conducted today at Yaingangpokpi Bazar in Imphal East district as part of two days memorial celebration of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.

The drive was organised by Ephurupki Tengbang Team in association with local clubs of Yaingangpokpi area on the theme, "Khoiri Keithel Lu-nanna Thamlashi" .

Notably, every September, various activities are conducted to honor the legacy of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot and spread awareness about his contributions to social justice, equality, and the struggle for peasants and workers' rights.

The events also fostered community spirit by bringing together various clubs, organisations, and local residents in a collaborative effort.
