Imphal, May 20 2025: Keishamthong Assembly Constituency MLA, Nishikant Singh Sapam has come out strongly against the conduct of security personnel in stopping a Government bus carrying the word Manipur on its windscreen.

The bus was on its way to Ukhrul carrying reporters to cover the Shirui Lily Festival.

This is nothing less than a flagrant disrespect for the land and the people who identify themselves with the place called Manipur, which a State of the Union of India, he said.

Manipur is known across the world as a place which has produced outstanding sports personalities as well as in the field of art and culture and in the world of theatre, said the MLA while asserting that covering the name Manipur from the MST bus is not acceptable in any manner.

The Governor should take up appropriate action, added the Independent MLA .
