21st instalment of PM-Kisan marked with Statewide observance

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region (NEH Region), Manipur Centre, and its constituent Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) organised the PM Kisan Diwas at its Lamphelpat campus on Wednesday.
The event marked the release of the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, a flagship scheme of the Government of India aimed at empowering farmers through direct financial support.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 21st installment of PM-KISAN amounting to Rs 18,000 crore to 9 crore farmers across the country during the inauguration of the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
The event held at Lamphelpat was graced by L Boby Devi, Up-Adhyaksha, Imphal West District Zilla Parishad; Dr Kh Ramanando B, Director, Institute of Cooperative Management, Imphal; Dr Ramgopal Laha, former Head of Regional Centre, ICAR Manipur Centre, Imphal; and Dr E Lamalakshmi Devi, Head of Regional Centre (i/c), ICAR Manipur Centre, Imphal as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, L Boby said that the PM-KISAN was launched on February 24, 2019, to provide financial assistance to landholding farmer families across India.
She asserted that the scheme aims to supplement the income of farmers by helping them cover expenses for agriculture and allied activities through direct bank transfers of Rs 6000 per year, paid in three equal installments of Rs 2000.The programme also featured the live webcasting of the release of the 21st installment of PM-KISAN by the PM.
Similarly, KVK Imphal East and DEE, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal also celebrated the release of the 21st instalment of PM-KISAN on Wednesday.
A live telecast of the PM's address and official release of the 21st instalment was screened for the attendees, allowing them to witness the national event in real-time.
Distribution of winter crop seeds to the farmers and talks on benefits of PM-KISAN and natural farming by experts from KVK Imphal were the main highlights of the event.
CHANDEL
The release of the 21st installment of PM-KISAM was also webcasted at ICAR-KVK Chandel on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by Ts Leenda Monsang, Head i/c and SMS (Plant Breeding) KVK Chandel; Sp Lovejoy Anal, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel; and Ps Lavid Anal, SMS (Horticulture) as presidium members.
About 219 fanners and staff of Agriculture Department and KVK Chandel attended the programme.
SENAPATI
The release of 21st installment of PM-KISAN by the PM at Coimbatore was also webcasted at the training hall of KVK, Senapati with participation of over 190 farmers.
During the programme, talks on the different topics were delivered by subject experts namely, financial literacy, beekeeping for sustainable agriculture, pest and disease management in natural farming and scientific methods of rearing poultry and piggery for income generation.
Agricultural inputs were also distributed to the participating farmers during the programme.
THOUBAL
At the conference hall of KVK Thoubal, the milestone was marked with the active participation of farmers from the district.
Th Joyprakash, District Agriculture Officer, Thoubal; Ningthoujam Ramananda, Khangabok Zilla Parishad Member; and Dr Kh Premlata Devi, Head (i/c), KVK Thoubal graced the event as presidium members'.
The event was marked by the distribution of winter crop seeds to farmers and awareness sessions on 'Scientific Kharif Cultivation' .
