NDRF conducts community awareness programme on Disaster Management in Moirang

Moirang, August 19 2025: In a proactive step towards enhancing community resilience and preparedness, the 12 "O" Team Imphal of the 12 Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in collaboration with Integrated Social and Cultural Organisation (ISCO), Moirang Panshang Leikai, organised a community awareness programme on 'Disaster Management' at Khoyol Keithel Relief Camp, Moirang.

The programme aimed to promote community awareness and preparedness in the wake of natural disasters or any man-made calamities.

Held under the supervision of Inspector/GD N Achouba of the 12 "O" Team Imphal, NDRF, the participants were trained on key safety measures during disasters such as fire incidents, earthquakes, floods, building collapses, landslides, animal or snake bites.

Demonstrations were conducted on search and rescue operations, first aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), along with techniques to make stretchers during medical emergencies.

The team also sensitized the public on safety precautions to be taken during emergencies like LPG cylinder leakage, electrocution, drowning cases and choking.

The 12 Bn NDRF assured that similar community awareness programmes will be organised across Manipur to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience.
