MLA Surjakumar fetes meritorious students

Thoubal, May 18 2025: Seva Club Thoubal Sabaltongba Mamang Leikai organised a felicitation ceremony today to honour the meritorious students of Sabaltongba Mamang Leikai who have secured good marks in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) and Higher Secondary Examination (HSE).

At the event, students who have secured positions and good marks in the HSLC Class X examination and HSE Class XII examination from the year 2021 to 2025 were honoured and felicitated.

The winners of the Painting and Quiz competitions were also felicitated during the programme.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Khangabok AC MLA, Okram Surjakumar Singh as chief guest, Thoubal Municipal Council Ward no 13 caretaker, Sanasam Ibotombi Singh as functional president and Imphal East District Asst Commissioner, Nongthombam Suran Singh and AMSU president, Bruce Pebam as guests of honour.

Speaking at the event, MLA O Surjakumar stated that the Government of India had launched various schemes including the New Education Policy for the welfare of the student community.

However, it is very unfortunate to see that students are still using unfair means to attain good marks.

To end such practice, the parents and organisations must play a big role to save the future of students who are the pillar of the nation, said Surjakumar.
