KMC launches first ever door-to-door waste collection mobile Application

In a significant leap towards a sustainable waste management system, the Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) today successfully launched a mobile app for door-to-door waste collection.
The mobile app "KMC D2D Waste Collection" was officially launched by the KMC at the Conference Hall of Kakching Municipal Council at Kakching Phousupat Leikai, Kakching.
The launch programme was graced by Naorem Sanjitkumar, Caretaker Chairperson, KMC, L Romesh, Senior Chief Executive Officer and Naorem Ramchandra, Executive Engineer.
Speaking on the occasion, Naorem Sanjitkumar, Caretaker Chairperson informed that the app is first of its kind developed for the purpose of door-to-door waste collection.
He said the app will help the households located in the Kakching area.
Laishram Romesh, Senior Chief Executive Officer stated that consumers,after registering on the app, will be able to pay fees for the waste collection service at their convenient time.
He further said that the app will also help in creating a database of households and members.
For now, the registration process on the app will be carried out by the fee collectors, he added.
At the function, the technical experts of Globizs Web Solutions Private Limited explained about the usage of the mobile app, the benefits/options given to consumers and the responsibilities of the official staff.
The programme was also attended by Caretaker Councillors, staffs, door-to-door waste collection sanitary workers and fee collection workers of the KMC .
