Alang leaves Somali shores

Satellite transmitter tagged female Amur Falcon "Alang" left the Somali shores this morning and is heading towards Socotra island.
Socotra is a Yemeni archipelago in the Arabian Sea, located roughly 380 km south of the Arabian Peninsula and 232 km east of the Horn of Africa.
Alang left the Somalian shores at around 7.30 am Somali time.
Having covered nearly 600 km since it left the shores, Alang is heading northward towards Socotra island.
She will continue her flight towards the Arabian Peninsula, said people familiar with the migratory route of the falcon.
Alang is expected to continue her flight across the Arabian Sea for the next three days, the experts further said.
