UPSC achievers inspire students at 'Special Sunday' programme in Kakching

Kakching, March 15 2026:
Continuing its initiative to inspire and groom young learners, the Library and Information Centre, Kakching organised the 570th edition of its "Special Sunday" programme at its auditorium located at Kakching Phousupat Leikai on Sunday morning.
The programme witnessed participation of around 250 students from Kakching and nearby villages.
The highlight of the event was an interactive session with achievers of the Civil Services Examination 2025 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Among the speakers were Wahengbam Renudhar of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai under Kakching district, who secured All India Rank 652, and Dr Rahul Moirangthem of Kakching Mayai Leikai, who secured All India Rank 824 in the prestigious examination.
The interactive session also featured Yengkhom Ongbi Indira of Kakching Mayai Leikai, a recipient of the National Award for Handicrafts 2023 presented by the Government of India to differently abled skilled artisans and entrepreneurs.
During the programme, Renudhar, Dr Rahul and Indira shared their experiences and offered valuable insights, motivating students to work hard and pursue their goals with determination.
The students actively participated in the interaction by raising various questions.
Those who asked thoughtful questions were rewarded, while the five students who arrived earliest to attend the programme were also felicitated to encourage punctuality and eagerness to learn.
The programme was attended by proprietor of Bhubon and Leiren Brick Field Kakching, Naorem Nopur Singh, as the chief guest.
Principal of Excellent Academy Kakching Turel Wangma, Khumukcham Sundari, and president of Macha Chanu Kakching and National Awardee Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini attended the event as guests of honour.
Father of Dr Rahul Moirangthem, Moirangthem Manihar, and his mother Moirangthem Ongbi Nongmaithem Mandadori, along with Wahengbam Jogendra, uncle of Wahengbam Renudhar, were also present as dais members during the programme.
