Imphal, December 14 2024: The All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) has come out strongly against the house arrest of Imagi Meira convenor Thokchom Sujata and two other members by Delhi Police.

AMNM, in a statement, said that putting Sujata, Imagi Meira advisor and another member Ngangom Mamta on house arrest undermines the Indian Constitution, democracy and human rights.

They went to Delhi to attend the 85th Nupi Lan Day observance organised by Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC), women's and youth wings on December 12 .

The association said that all right thinking citizens should condemn the unjust confinement of three women activists from Manipur by Delhi Police.

AMNM said that three of them were put under house arrest as per the direction of the Union Home Ministry to hide the crisis in Manipur.
