ICFAI University hosts Novatos-2k25

Imphal, September 13 2025: ICFAI University Tripura hosted Novatos-2k25, its annual freshers' welcome celebration, on September 10-11, 2025 .

As per a release issued by the ICFAI, the celebration was inaugurated by Jhama Debbarma, Chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Prof (Dr) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor of the ICFAI University welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and the new students who have taken admission into 59 different programmes from across the country during the 2025-26 session.

In her speech, Jhama Debbarma extended her best wishes to the new students and shared valuable insights on the long educational journey of a student, from basic schooling to university.

The inaugural function also featured vibrant cultural programmes showcasing the talents of both new and existing students of the University.

The valedictory function held on September 11 was graced by Rajib Bhattacharjee, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; and Dr Tapas Chakravarty, Chief Scientist, TCS Research- Kolkata as the chief guest & special guest respectively.

Speaking at the event, Dr Tapas Chakravarty explained the rapid changes in technologies and future computing, and urged the students to take the right decision in choosing their fields of study.

Bhattacharjee asserted that ICFAI has chosen a very good name Novatos for the fresher's welcome programme.

He encouraged the students to work hard, stay innovative and remain focused on their goal to build a bright & successful future.

"ICFAI is a very prestigious university providing quality education in the State of Tripura with robust academic infrastructure and highly qualified teachers", he added.

He also advised the students to become responsible and good citizens of the country and contribute in the protection & conservation of the environment and renewable energies.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr A Ranganath, Registrar of ICFAI University.

The two-night event included performances by singer Shivang Upadhyay on September 10 and a DJ night with celebrity DJ Lemon on September 11 at the university campus in Kamalghat, Agartala.
