Imphal, September 09 2026: A nine-member delegation of the Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF) led by its chairman Budha Chingtham held a discussion with Chief Minister Y Khemchand on the present scenario of Manipuri culture.

The discussion focused particularly on the effective implementation of the Manipur Culture Policy, according to a press release issued by CWAF .

The CWAF delegation emphasised on constituting an implementation authority comprising Govt agencies and cultural bodies.

Other urgent concerns raised during the meeting included renovation and revival of old playhouses and cultural halls, appropriate incentives and recognition for outstanding artists, and protection of indigenous knowledge, performing arts, literature, music and dance, it said.

The CWAF has also expressed gratitude for the CM's positive response, commitment and deep concern for preservation of Manipuri culture.
