Kakching launches district-level volunteer teachers training programme

A two-day district-level Volunteer Teachers Training Programme commenced today at Wabagai Higher Secondary School, under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching.
The programme is being jointly organised by the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Kakching and the District Literacy Mission Authority (DLMA), Kakching.
A total of 120 participants from various villages across Kakching district took part in the training programme which is a part of the implementation of Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society (ULLAS) under the Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) P Shantikumar graced the inaugural function as the chief guest, Zonal Educational Officer (ZEO) M Rakhesh as the president and Deputy Inspector of Schools Kh Binodini, Kakching as the guest of honour.
Addressing the event, P Shantikumar highlighted that the Central Government's scheme aims to extend educational opportunities to individuals above 15 years of age who have missed out on education opportunities.
He sought cooperation from the public so that the people of Kakching district can take maximum benefit from the scheme.
M Rakhesh stressed that education is highly essential for every individual in a developed nation.
He added that all sectors today require education and those who have missed earlier opportunities must be brought into the fold to help India progress in line with the objectives of the ULLAS scheme initiated by the Government.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching, the District Child Protection Unit Kakching and the Department of Social Welfare jointly organised a programme for distribution of warm clothes to the children of Child Care Institutions (CCI) in connection with Children's Day celebrations.
As part of the programme, warm clothes for winters were distributed to the children of Morning Star Children Home and BDS Children Home at Keirak Chingkhei Hunba Leikai.
The event was attended by ADM P Shantikumar, SDO Kakching Shri Kherdananda Potsangbam and District Child Protection Officer Thoubal/Kakching Gajoo Rajkumari.
