Manipur pays glowing tribute to educators on Teacher's Day

On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Assam Rifles reaffirmed its deep-rooted commitment to education and community development by celebrating the day with schools across Imphal West, Kangpokpi (KPI), and Thoubal districts of Manipur today.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the celebration at Komlakhong Company Operating Base brought together students and teachers from Phabakchao Government High School, Phabakchao Unique Public School, and Smart Universal School.
A total of 41 civilians - including 21 students, 8 teachers, and 12 locals - participated in the event featuring cultural performances and heartfelt tributes to educators.

In Kangpokpi district, Bungte Chiru High School hosted a vibrant programme that saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students, 14 teachers, and 20 parents.
The gathering radiated warmth and unity, as families joined hands with Assam Rifles to celebrate the guiding lights of society - our teachers.
Meanwhile, in Thoubal district, Chayoyaima Higher Secondary School welcomed Assam Rifles personnel and students for a meaningful celebration.
A total of 36 individuals, including 14 personnel and 22 students and teachers, took part in the event, which was marked by interactive activities and expressions of gratitude.
Across all venues, students showcased their talents through cultural performances, poems, and creative gestures to honor their mentors.
The events also paid homage to the legacy of Dr..SRadhakrishnan, whose life and ideals continue to inspire generations of learners and educators.
In total, 111 civilians and 14 personnel participated in the celebrations, which served as a platform for fostering mutual respect, educational awareness, and community bonding.
Parents expressed heartfelt appreciation for Assam Rifles' continued efforts in nurturing the spirit of learning and unity in the region.
Manihar School
As observed across the nation, Teacher's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at Manihar School, a special education and rehabilitation centre for person with disabilities (PWDs) run by the Development for Women's Programme Centre (DWPC), Thoubal Wangmataba.
The event, held today at the school auditorium was attended by Thoubal Municipal Ward No 1 member, Ningombam Anita Devi as chief guest; DWPC Thoubal Wangmataba president, S Tanoubi Devi as functional president; and Senior National Coach of Olympics Bharat, Manipur Chapter, Oinam Bishworjit as guest of honour.
The celebration commenced with the presentation of the song Sanaleibak Manipur by the students, followed by a series of colourful events.
Gifts were presented to the teachers by the students as a token of respect and gratitude, and the students blessings from the teachers.
During the programme, teachers and parents shared their views and called for collective support to take the school to greater heights.
In her keynote address, DWPC AK Nandarani urged everyone present to continue supporting the institution in its mission to guide and empower differently-abled students.
AG Memorial School
The AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal Charangpat, celebrated its Annual Cultural Meet-2025 cum Teacher's Day celebration today with great fervour at the school premises today.
The event was attended by MPCC president and Wangkhem AC MLA, Keisham Meghachandra; AG Memorial Academy principal cum MD Thiyam Master Singh; ZEO Zone II, DI Asem Rebika Devi; Charangpat-5 Zilla Parishad ZP Japaan Sougrakpam; Administrative Committee Charangpat GP chairperson Sagolsem Joychand; CR Academy Founder Thiyam Sanatomba; Smart Security Service MD Laimayum Pratap; and Social Worker Thiyam Tomba as presidium members.
The program commenced with MLA K Meghachandra leading the gathering in paying floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan, followed by honouring the teachers with gifts presented by students.
The teachers and meritorious students of the school were felicitated during the function, and the students showcased a variety of cultural performances to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Meghanchandra highlighted the importance of Teacher's Day in strengthening the bond between teachers and students.
He urged students to imbibe good values and moral character to become responsible citizens and successful individuals.
Heirok Hr Sec School
The Mangal Foundation Heirok, in collaboration with Heirok Higher Secondary School, celebrated Teacher's Day at Heirok Higher Secondary School with great enthusiasm.
The event also honoured the teachers of government schools under Heirok Assembly Constituency (AC).
The function was attended by Heirok AC MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Thokchom Radheshyam highlighted the significance of Teacher's Day, calling it an occasion to honour those who once guided and shaped every individual.
He reminded the audience that the first teacher in one's life is the parent, who teaches us to walk, eat, speak, and live.
He urged everyone to regard parents as teachers as well.
Dr Radheshyam stressed the importance of education in today's society, encouraging teachers to impart knowledge in a way that reduces stress and anxiety for students.
He assured that as a representative of the constituency, he would put in every effort to uplift education in Heirok and seek support from the teacher's to make it possible.
In his keynote address, Ningthoujam Kameshor, a member of Mangal Foundation Heirok stated that under the initiative of MLA Dr Th Radhesyam, a special programme called "Mission Education" would soon be launched in the constituency.
He added that as a first initiative of the mission, a special event was organised today to honour the teachers on the occasion of Teacher's Day.
Naga Public School
Naga Public School, located at Koide Biisho, celebrated Teacher's Day on Friday with great enthusiasm, showcasing a vibrant array of cultural performances by the students.
In his address, the Principal described teachers as "guiding stars who instill knowledge, values, and discipline".
He reminded students that "behind every success stands a teacher who believed in you," and encouraged parents and teachers to work together, stating that "education is a shared responsibility for raising not only successful students but responsible citizens" .
