Awareness / blood donation camp held

Imphal, April 05 2026:
An awareness cum blood donation camp drew crowds to the Shree Digambar Jain Temple in Paona Bazar today, underscoring the vital role of blood donation in saving lives across communities.
The camp was jointly organised by the Mahavir International Imphal Center Manipur, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Imphal West District Branch, Shree Digambar Jain Samaj Paona Bazar Imphal, and Department of Transfusion Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
The camp, supported by the State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) Manipur, was inaugurated by Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan.
In his address, Kh Joykisan highlighted the critical importance of blood in human life, stating that donating blood to save a life is a great act of religion and a high level of humanitarian service.
He commended the organisers for their initiative in conducting the awareness and blood donation camp.
Joykisan also mentioned that the donated blood would go towards saving lives, transcending caste and community barriers, and strengthening the bonds of unity.
Dignitaries present at the event included Dr Arun Koijam.
vice president of IRCS Imphal West District Branch; Aarti Jain, president of Mahavir International Imphal Center Manipur; and businessman Vinod Kumar.
Altogether, 47 individuals donated their blood during the camp.
