State Level Science Drama 2025 held; winners announced

Imphal, November 04 2025: The State Level Science Drama Competition 2025 was hosted by the Science and Technology Department at the auditorium hall of Manipur Science Centre, Takyel under the theme "Science and technology for the benefit of mankind" today.

At the event, Oinam Government Higher Secondary School's "Kalhourasi Malem" was named "Best Team" while the title of "Best Script" was given to Pramoda Nandeibam for "Chaokhatpagi Khongchat" (Yumnam Khunou Junior High School ); "Best Director" went to Ningombam Ibetombi Chanu for "It's time to go green" (Brighter Academy, Khumbong); "Best Actress" to Lamnganbi Laishram (Brighter Academy) and "Best Actor" to Lankhonba Thokchom (Ananda Higher Secondary School).

Notably, the "Best Team" will represent Manipur at the North East Drama Competition.

Speaking at the event, Kengoo Zuringla, Secretary, Science and Technology Department, highlighted the benefits of science and technology in every field including education and health and urged people to employ such benefits in a positive and responsible way.

Stressing on this point, she spoke about the high rate of maternal death during childbirth in the past which has been drastically brought down by advances in medical science.

Meanwhile, Ch Sachi, Director, Science and Technology Department, said that 15 teams applied for the competition, out of which 8 teams were selected for the screening.

Seven teams showed up today and competed in the State Level Science Drama Competition 2025.He stated that the competition was organised to inculcate a temper inclined towards science and technology among the students and people in general through the art of dramas.

Stating that the Department will continue to organise similar events, he sought the public's support and cooperation to make their future endeavours a success.
