Imphal, July 04 2025: Imphal West Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar, has ordered a crackdown on road and footpath encroachments in the district, setting a deadline of July 11 (3 pm) for removal.

As per an order issued by the DC, failure to remove structures like houses, sheds, and shop extensions, as well as accumulated construction materials, waste, and debris from encroached roads, including National Highways, State Highways, interdistrict roads, inter-village roads, and footpaths, will result in penal action, eviction, demolition, and removal of encroaching structures, as per relevant laws.

Emphasising that constructing structures and accumulating construction materials, waste, and debris on roads and footpaths causes significant inconvenience to the public and obstructs the free flow of traffic, he sought public cooperation to address the issue.
