Senapati, September 02 2025:
The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, marked its 5th anniversary with a special observance in Senapati.
Launched on August 15, 2020, the campaign envisions a drug-free India by addressing the growing problem of substance abuse that adversely affects individuals, families, workplaces, and society at large.
On this occasion, Mera Yuva Bharat (MYB) Senapati, under the aegis of the District Administration, joined the observance through extensive awareness efforts.
A month-long campaign, from Oct 1 to Oct 30, 2025, has been launched with the objectives of sensitizing the community-particularly the youth about the harmful impacts of drug and substance abuse.
The awareness programme spans educational institutions, schools, colleges, and youth clubs across the district.
It includes interactive sessions, awareness drives, workshops, lectures, and cultural events designed to educate young people about the dangers of substance dependence and to encourage them to embrace a healthy, disciplined, and purposefill lifestyle.
Speaking on the initiative, W Paulina Monsang, DD of MYB Senapati, emphasized that the observance seeks to empower the youth of Senapati to act as ambassadors of change, spreading the message of a drug-free society and ensuring the holistic well-being of future generations.
By fostering awareness and promoting collective action, the campaign envisions a disciplined, healthy, and addiction-free youth population in Senapati and beyond, she said.
