Free Mega Health Camp held for Internally Displaced Persons at Moirang

A free Mega Health Camp was successfully conducted today at Moirang College Relief Camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) .
It was organized by Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) under the Swachhta Action Plan 2025-26 in collaboration with District Administration Bishnupur.
An initiative by ASKSUR Academy with support of SEWA Health Link, the camp was led by a team of eight doctors across various specialties.
The departments included General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Paediatrics.
Alongside medical consultations, free medicines were also distributed.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, expressed gratitude to ASKSUR Academy for taking the initiative to organise such health outreach program at one of the relief camps housing the highest number of IDPs in the district.
She also acknowledged the active support of various organisations and appreciated the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Moirang for the cooperation in making the event a success.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups and raised awareness about the rising incidence of non-communicable diseases, particularly those stemming from lifestyle changes.
She urged everyone to adopt healthier habits by maintaining a balanced diet and engaging in regular physical activity.
Commending ASKSUR Academy for its dedication to social welfare, the DC encouraged its members to continue their good work, inspire younger generations, and organise more such beneficial activities in the future.
