Two-day refreshers training on legal literacy begins

A two-day refreshers training of preraks on legal literacy, began today at the conference hall of State Guest House, Babupara, Imphal.
The training is being organised by the State Resource Centre (SRC), Nehu, Shillong in collaboration with State Literacy Mission Authority (SLMA), Manipur.
The opening function of the two-day training was graced by Joint Secretary, Adult Education, Kholia larho; SRC, Nehu, Director B Laltanpuia and Manipur State Commission or Protection of Child Rights Member S Shyamcharan as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
The training will cover different topics including, the Indian Constitution � Fundamental Rights, duties and entitlements; protection of women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005; Right to Education Act, 2009; Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989; PCPNDT Act and Food Security Act, 2013; ST and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Right) Act, 2006; different Government schemes; free legal aids; Right to Information Act, 2005; Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 and various schemes of Government.
Resource persons of the training programme were those who had received training at Shillong in April.
