World Heart Day observed

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, observed World Heart Day today by organising a Free ECG Screening Camp at the New GOPD Block of RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the event held under the theme "Don't Miss a Beat" aimed to promote early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases among the public.
Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, Imphal, oversaw the Free ECG Screening Camp, which was also attended by Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, RK Mecolt Singh, Deputy Director (Admn), and Prof L Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academic) of RIMS, Imphal.
The programme witnessed active participation from Heads of Departments, faculty members, nursing officers, staff, and students, along with staff from CRED and MSS, RIMS, Imphal.
Additionally, under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, activities such as a Digital ABHA ID drive, yoga session, NCD screening (hypertension, diabetes, and cancer), and Nikshay Mitra enrolment with TB support were also conducted, during which a total of 103 individuals, both male and female, were enrolled for psychological and nutritional support.
Moreover, Senior Citizens' Society, Khundrakpam AC also celebrated World Heart Day 2025 by organising a Free Medical Camp at RAM School, Pangei today.
Free health examination and consultation along with medicines were provided to about 100 individuals during the camp.
Individuals also received free screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG and Thyroid tests.
Senior Citizens' Society secretary Dr Khsterimayum Kala also administered a health pledge to the senior citizens present at the event.
