Imphal, October 27 2025: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has refuted a press statement issued under the name ZUF-Kamson recently.

The press statement of the ZUF-Kamson published by Franky Gonmei has created public confusion distorting the actual image and prestige of the Zeliangrong United Front, it said in a statement issued by its secretary, information and publicity, Louis Gangmei.

Going by the statement [of ZUF- Kamson], it appears that the group is "becoming the mouthpiece of NSCN-IM" and its "political weapon to tarnish the image of the ZUF", it said.

The Kamson party has no right to use the name of ZUF, it added.

While the NSCN (IM) claims to love and honour Haipou Jadonang, tens of hundreds of Zeliangrong people have been killed and an arms confrontation has been going on in Zeliangrong areas to suppress the historical and political aspiration of the Zeliangrong people, said the ZUF, cautioning the NSCN (IM) not to play with the sentiment of the Zeliangrong people.

While the talk on the Zeliangrong political issues is in an advanced stage of negotiation for settlement with the GOI, such elements are an intentional game plan to distort and undermine the progress of the talk.

The next round of talk is scheduled on October 29, 2025 in New Delhi.

The ZUF will be headed by its chairman Jenchui Kamei in the talk to bring a logical conclusion iri a time bound manner, it said.
