Imphal, January 27 2026: The Special Court POCSO Imphal West has remanded a 35-year-old man to judicial custody on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor boy.

The accused was produced before the Court today after the completion of his police custody period by a team of Lamphel police station.

The Special PP stated that the complainant, the father of the minor victim, filed a written complaint on January 20 .

In the complaint, the father reported that on the same day, around 1.30 pm, the accused, who is also a neighbour, sexually assaulted his physically challenged 6-year-old son in the drawing room of his house by covering the boy's mouth.

Based on the investigation conducted so far, prima facie evidence has been established against the accused.

After the hearing, the Court remanded the accused to judicial custody till February 10 .
