Late RK Kamaljit honoured with Takhel Ratna posthumously

Thoubal, July 26 2026: Noted social activist late Rajkumar Kamaljit Singha was posthumously honoured with the prestigious Takhel Ratna award during an award distribution ceremony cum Manipuri Cultural Fest, 2026, organised by the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum (MLCF) at Sukanta Academy Auditorium today.

The Babure Taramani Memorial National Award, instituted for distinguished personalities from outside Tripura, was conferred on retired Assistant Professor of Dhanamanjuri University (DM University), Dr RK Mushuksana Devi.

The ceremony also saw cultural activist Kh Bijoylakshmi Devi receiving the MLCF Lifetime Achievement Award, while the Pukhrambam Ibeyaima Devi Memorial Award was presented to Rajkumar Bhramarjit Singha.

The Khoisnam Bangobir Memorial Young Talent Award went to Khumanthem Anima, and bodybuilding gold medallist Dr Bishal Sinha received the Youth Excellence Award.

Among the academic achievers, Kshetrimayum Nayanita and N Sneha were honoured with the Khaidem Ningol Sagolsem Ongbi Achoubi Devi Ningsing Mana for their outstanding performance in the Higher Secondary and Secondary examinations.

Takhellambam Aneek Dutta received the Academic Laureate Award, while Tonjam Neelam Singha was conferred the Kshetrimayum Niva Devi Award.

The Khoisnam Bangabir Memorial Academic Award was presented to Khoisnam Mamata, Dabajit Singha and N Debasmita Singha for their academic excellence.

MLA of Lamlai Assembly Constituency Khongbantabam Ibomcha attended the function as chief guest, while Sahitya Akademi Manipur Language Board member Kh Birola presided as the functional president.

Manipur Sahitya Parishad Tripura president L Birmangal, MLCF president N Bira Singha, Leimarol Khorjeikol (Leikol), Manipur president Chongtham Ongbi Subadini and noted social activist L Birjit were present as guests of honour.

MLCF secretary Khoisnam Mangal delivered the welcome address, while RK Tarunjit delivered the keynote address.

The programme concluded with a captivating dance and Thang-Ta performance by artistes of JNM Dance Academy, enthralling the gathering.
