District level awareness programme on PMMSY & LIFIC held

Imphal, July 25 2025:
A 1-day district level awareness programme on "Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and LINAC-NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre" (LIFIC)" was held today at the Sangai Hall ofHotel Imphal.
The programme was jointly organised by the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC), Regional Training Centre, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Guwahati and Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (FAHD), Government of India.
The programme was graced by dignitaries, including W Ibohal Singh, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manipur; T Phulen Meitei, Director, Department of Fisheries, Manipur; Phamdom Promila Devi, District Fisheries Officer (DFO), Imphal East District; and Mohenjit Yengkhom, District Cooperative Officer, Imphal East District.
During the technical sessions, Sapam Jiten Singh, FI, FRC, Department of Fisheries (Manipur), delivered lectures on the topics, "Role of the Department of Fisheries in the development of the Fisheries Sector in the State of Manipur and the PMMSY Scheme" and "Implementation of Financial Assistance through various schemes of the Department of Fisheries, Government of India, such as FFPO, FIDF and PM-MKSSY" .
Babita Thangjam, Senior Scientific Officer, MANIREDA elaborated on the topic "Installation of Standalone Solar Water Pumping Systems under PM-KUSUM Scheme Component-B of MNRE" while Jagadeshwar Rao, Deputy Director, NCDC, SO, Shillong spoke on "Role Of NCDC in development of Fisheries Cooperatives across the country.
