Imphal, December 25 2008:
MANIPUR PEOPLE'S Party President, Dr L Chandramani has called upon the electorate of Moirang assembly constituency, specially of Kwakta to take active role in trying to bring a change in the government of Manipur which, he alleged, has been indulging in endless killing of people daily.
Dr Chandramani was speaking to media persons at Kwakta Khuman in Moirang AC today.
He said, in Manipur today, there seemed to be no point in the youths studying and incidents of rape and molestation of young women have too frequent.
On top of that youths are being killed daily.
Whomever has the Congress-led government of Manipur booked a killer? It is important that the chaotic situation in Manipur needs to be cleared.
Nobody comes forward to wipe the tears off the eyes of Mother Manipur.
Let the rights of votes of the people wipe the tears off the face of Mother Manipur, Dr Chandramani said.

In an attempt to win the hearts of the Muslim voters of Kwakta areas, Dr Chandramani recounted that the Meetei Pangals were given Meetei women in the days of the king and since then have been living together in Manipur.
MPP made Alimuddin Chief Minister of Manipur and had done a lot of memorable works for all the communities of Manipur. He said, the Muslim brethren of Kwakta were coming out boldly to support the MPP candiate, Hemam Bira.
Let Moirang AC be the first step towards bringing about a new change in Manipur.
It is the people who would bring a change in Manipur, he said and added, MPP is not a party which has money. Former Union Minister Thounaojam Chaoba said, the by-election of Moirang AC is not free and fair.
Election campaigns are conducted at the Chief Minister's bungalow.
This is the first time in the history of Manipur that election campaigns are conducted at the official resident of state's Chief Minister.
Several ministers camp at Moirang at night and carry out campaigns using the security personnel. Apart from killing so many youths daily, the Congress government has failed to supply PDS goods to the public, Chaoba said and pointed out that in an unprecedented manner, in harvest season the price of one kg of rice has reached Rs 27.But the Congress government seems to be unbothered.
Chief Minister looks at the constituencies with discriminating eyes, he said. Chaoba charged that while allotting Rs 25 crore for developmental projects in Thoubal, only Rs 1 crore is allotted to Moirang.
Is this an act of love for the people of Moirang as the Congress claims, Chaoba asked. MLA O Joy said, the by-election is a fight between the people of Moirang and the government.
He expressed his confidence that the MPP candidate will surely win the election. Saying that the Congress has declined in the country, O Joy said, now the people have come to realise that the Congress has been looting the public money.
Though the government exists in Manipur, there is no administration.
The people of Moirnag know this fully well. He said, the Congress has insulted the Muslim community of Manipur by disrespectfully ridiculling the photograph of Alimuddin as old photo. MLA I Ibohalbi said, MPP is contesting in the election with a view to bringing about changes in Manipur.
On seeing the dusty road of Kwakta, it is easly understood that the government has neglected the people of Kwakta.
He appealed to the local electorate not to get swayed by the money trap of Congress. RK Anand said, there is no popular administration in Manipur.
The Congress indulges in playing games.
Under the Congress rule, the security forces keep on killing youths wantonly.
The Naga MLAs have all signed the Naga integration.
If the people vote for Congress, it would be similar to giving licence to the Congress government to continue killing people. MLA Dr Ng Bijoy said, all the dust of the Kwakta roads have shortened the life span of the people of Kwakta.
The funds allotted for the minority have not reached them.
