RIMS clinches double awards at ISPPD 2025

Imphal, November 24 2025:
The Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, Manipur, has brought laurels to the institute by securing two prestigious awards at the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) 46th National Conference 2025, held from November 20 to 22 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
As per a press release, the Department secured the 2nd prize in the ISPPD World Oral Health Day Celebration Contest 2025 and the 1st prize in the ISPPD Nanhi Muskan Project 2025, a flagship outreach initiative promoting oral health among underserved children.
The World Oral Health Day Celebration 2025 featured a range of community-based awareness activities focused on improving oral hygiene among children and families.
The awards were received by Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, Associate Professor and Head of the Department.
This marks the second consecutive year of National recognition, following similar awards in 2024.Notably, the Institute also received three National honours this year, including the Best Consistent Performer Award from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
According to the statement, these achievements were made possible through the continued support of Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS Imphal; Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent; and Professor B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College.
The Department has extended sincere appreciation to the faculty members, nurses, students, and staff whose dedication contributed to these national recognitions, along with the invaluable assistance of community health workers, school coordinators, government departments, local partners, and NGOs.
Above all, the department has expressed deep gratitude to the children and families whose trust and participation made these outreach initiatives truly meaningful and impactful.
