Electoral Roll Observer reviews SIR process in Noney

Noney, July 23 2026: As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll, the Electoral Roll Observer (ERO), Mohan Lal Meena, IAS, visited Noney District today to review the progress and implementation of the revision process.

Upon his arrival at the District Election Office (DEO), Longmai, Meena was received by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Noney, Vidhyamari Sridhar, along with the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of the 54-Nungba (ST) Assembly Constituency.

As part of the review, the Observer scrutinised 20 applications each under Form 6 for inclusion of names, Form 7 for objections or deletion of names, and Form 8 for correction or shifting of entries, assessing the quality and transparency of the verification process.

He also interacted with representatives of various political parties at the DEO Office and stressed the importance of active participation and cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure an accurate, inclusive and error-free electoral roll.

The representatives shared their observations and were encouraged to extend constructive support throughout the revision process.

Meena later visited Polling Station No.54/4 at Peace Lane, Longmai, where he inspected the implementation of SIR activities, reviewed arrangements at the polling station and interacted with election functionaries to assess the progress of field-level verification and enrolment.

The visit reaffirmed the Election Commission's commitment to ensuring a transparent, participative and comprehensive revision of electoral rolls, while providing every eligible citizen an opportunity to be enrolled and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the electoral database.
