Student induction programme commences

Thoubal, July 22 2024: The 3-day student induction programme was inaugurated today at the multipurpose hall of Thoubal College organised by the college.

The inaugural programme was graced by Thoubal College Principal Professor M Bina Devi as the chief guest; Thoubal College Teachers' Association (TCTA) president S Iboyaima Singh as the president and Head of Geography Department, Professor Kh Jugindro as the guest of honour.

Speaking at the occasion, Professor M Bina Devi stressed that the students should strive for a good lifestyle apart from acquiring knowledge and skills.

The progress and achievements of the students will help in deciding a suitable career of their choice, she said.

She motivated the students to pursue their aims and goals and keep trying until and unless the aims are achieved.

Highlighting that the teachers are always there to guide and support them whenever needed, she appealed to the students to work with a positive attitude to achieve their goals and expressed firm belief that the students of the college will become successful and responsible individuals.

The Principal maintained that the facilities available in the college such as fitness centre, yoga centre, basketball court, swimming pool etc will benefit the students in enhancing the extra-curricular activities of their choice.

The formal inaugural programme was followed by a familiarization visit for the students to the college's fitness centre, swimming pool, library and other areas.

As a part of the induction, a pledge was administered to stay away from drugs and intoxicants in line with the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.

An anti-drug rally was also carried out.

A series of activities including a drug awareness programme, career counselling programme and talent shows etc have been lined up for the student induction programme.
