Satjal Academy Yairipok Bishnunaha celebrates 30th raising day

Thoubal, December 20 2025: Marking thirty years since its establishment, Meitei Huyen Langlon Sintam Shanglen (Satjal Academy) Yairipok Bishnunaha Branch celebrated its 30th raising day today.

Held at its Yairipok Bishnunaha Pukhri Achouba office, the event was organised by Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) under the motto of "Universal Peace and Love".

The event was graced by Ananda Laishram, president, Nongpok Sayang Apunba Lup (NSAL); Keisham Dijen, general secretary, Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Thougal Lup Yairipok Bishnunaha; Thounaojam Tomba Luwang, Commander, Eastern Manipur Headquarter No V; Deputy Commander Huirem Chourajit Angom; advisors Laishram Joychandra Khuman, AK Ibomcha Angom and senior instructor Nongmaithem Bijen Angom as the presidium members.

At the event, the dignitaries hoisted the Satjal Academy flag while the gathering collectively paid tribute to the founder of the Academy.

Addressing the gathering, Ananda Laishram lauded the members of UFO for their dedicated efforts towards preserving the Meitei culture, traditions, indigenous games and sports.

Meitei Huyen Langlon Sintam Shanglen (Satjal Academy) was founded in May, 1982 at CC Higher Secondary School, Imphal, he shared.

Further, he added that people should promote and preserve age-old indigenous sports such as Thang-Ta, Mukna Kangjei, Sagol Kangjei, Hi (Hiyang) Tannaba, Ten Kappa (archery), Nung Hunba, Chenjong, Mangjong, Khubei, Kang Sannaba, Satbren Langba, Sa Faba, Thouri Kabi, Ukaibi, Yubi Lakpi, Thouri Chingnabi etc among others.
