'Manglaba Lamdam' released, awardees feted

Imphal, July 20 2025: A literary event was held at Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal, to mark the release of "Manglaba Lamdam", the latest work by writer Nahakpam Biren Singh.

Organised by Seawaves Manipur, the event also featured a felicitation ceremony for three local literary figures recently honoured with prestigious awards.

The event saw literary enthusiasts and distinguished guests in attendance.

Among those felicitated were Moirangthem Rajendra Singh, who received the Lifetime Achievement Writer of the Year Award 2025 from Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Imphal; Dr M Priyobarta Singh, recipient of the Sanasam Ongbi Moirangthem Maipakpi Literary Award 2024 from the same organisation; and Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh (Shamu), awarded the Ayekpam Shyasundar Cash Award by the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad for his drama book "DASU SARDAR" .

The function was attended by Nongmaithem Kirankumar Singh, former convener of the Sahitya Akademi Manipuri Language Advisory Board, as chief guest, and associate professor K Sadananda Singh of Waikhom Mani Girls College as guest of honour.

Seawaves Manipur president, Joykumar Luwang, presided over the event.

The gathering highlighted the continued efforts of Seawaves Manipur in promoting Manipuri literature and recognising literary excellence.
