3-day training for Anganwadi workers underway at Kakching

Kakching, August 19 2025: A three-day training programme for Anganwadi workers on Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi organised under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project, Kakching, under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur continued for the second today at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching District.

The second day featured sessions on child nutrition, hygiene, and community engagement.

The day began with a recap and expectation setting by Oinam Ibemhal, followed by a session on Protocol for Management of Malnutrition in Children: Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), and Micronutrient Deficiencies with discussions, presentations, and role play activities led by Julia Kom and W Monteshwori.

Another session, highlighted Nutrition, Personal Hygiene and Sanitation for Children (0-6 years) & Dietary guidelines with resource inputs from Bajilee and Seemarani.

The afternoon sessions focused on growth monitoring techniques using the Poshan Tracker, led by O Ibemhal, and concluded with sessions on parental engagement, community mobilization and creating a safe environment for children, facilitated by W Binata and others.

The three day training programme will conclude tomorrow.
