Census Operations' Director, others call on Governor

Imphal, July 16 2025: Th Chitra Devi, Director of Census Operations, Manipur, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, today.

As per a release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan, the Director briefed the Governor about the update on the preparations and activities undertaken by the department for the upcoming Census 2027, scheduled to commence in April 2026 .

She also highlighted the administrative and managerial challenges faced by the directorate and sought the Government's support.

The Governor assured his support to address these issues to ensure smooth conduct of census operation in the State.

Moreover, the Organising Committee of the Miss Shirui Lily Festival 2025, along with the winner and first runner-up, also called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan today.

During the meeting, the committee apprised the Governor of the successful conduct of the Shirui Lily Festival 2025, which witnessed passionate participation from across the State and beyond.

They also highlighted the growing interest in the unique cultural and ecological heritage of Ukhrul.

The Governor praised the efforts of the organisers and underscored the need to balance ecological preservation with responsible tourism.

The Governor also assured his support for initiatives that promote conservation, sustainable development, and community welfare.
