Wide Angle holds children's cultural meet

Imphal, November 15 2025: Wide Angle Social Development Organisation, supported by Child Rights and You (CRY), successfully organised the Annual Children's Cultural Meet 2025 today at Moiranghanuba Lai Mamang Community Hall, Sagolband.

As per a release issued by Wide Angle, this year's event was held under the theme, "Investing in our children is investing in our future".

Against the backdrop of ongoing conflict and social tensions in Manipur, the programme sought to provide children with a space of hope, belonging and positivity.

It reaffirmed the collective resolve to promote peace, unity and resilience, while highlighting that nurturing children is vital for rebuilding trust and shaping a stable future for the State.

The event was graced by Nongthombam Ingocha, SDPO Imphal West; Ksh Bhaktakumar, 10-time Mr India title winner; Soubam Tomba Luwang, president, Semgat Sagatpa Committee, Moirang Hanuba Leirak; and Montu Ahanthem, secretary, Wide Angle, among others.

As part of the programme, the (Late) Ahanthem Ongbi Haobam Lembi Devi Meritorious Award-a cash award sponsored by her daughter, Mary Hemchand was presented to five exceptional students from each of the five remedial centres covering 18 villages in Imphal West district.

The cultural meet showcased a vibrant array of performances by children from the five Remedial Centres - Thaoroijam, Maklang, Ngairangbam, Heinoupok and Salam.

Traditional Manipuri dances, an energetic Thang-Ta presentation, and a soulful group rendition of "Sanaleibak Manipur", the State song, captivated the audience and celebrated the cultural richness of Manipur's young generation.
