Newly hatch Egret rescued from Angtha Ching

A newly hatched "Egret" which was found lying in a critical condition at Angtha Ching was rescued by a group of students and faculties of Lilong Haoreibi College and handed over to the Joint Co-ordination Committee on Wildlife and Biodiversity (JCCWB) Manipur today.
The bird was found by the students and faculties of Lilong Haoreibi College while on a educational visit at KVK Andro site."The bird after properly nursed and fed for 30 days was handed to JCCWB team by the teachers and students of B.Voc Agriculture, Lilong Haoreibi College.
Haoreibi College Alumni Association president, Mohammad Nasir Khan, Natur Vangurd Force, secretary Ch Shantosh Meitei, Lilong Haoreibi College Asst Professor, Laiphrakpam Pinky Chanu, Asst Professor Leitam Chanu Olivia, Asst Professor, Ph Faqiha, Asst Professor, Dr S Khurshida, Asst Professor, Mustakim and non-teaching staff of the college were also present during handing over of the bird.
The bird was later handed to Veterinary Hospital, Manipur Zoological Garden by JCCWB for further treatment.
The JCCWB has expressed gratitude to the college authority, students and Md Tamijur Rahmur of Lilong Bazar for their extensive care in keeping the bird safe.
JCCWB also appealed to the people to protect and conserve wildlife for maintaining ecological balance.
