Senapati district deputy commissioner Mamoni Doley, chaired a coordination meeting on Thursday to review preparations for the upcoming Civil Defence Mock Drill, codenamed Operation Abhyaas as part of a nationwide exercise under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968.Held at the DC Conference Hall, Senapati, the meeting was attended by Dharmendra Kumar Tyagi, superintendent of police, Senapati; Rang David Kung, additional deputy commissioner, Senapati; sub-divisional officers; district level officers; commanders of CRPF B/109 Bn, D/173 Bn, and 16 F Company of Assam Rifles; along with medical teams, and school representatives.

During the meeting, the deputy commissioner briefed attendees on the objectives and operational plan for the mock drill.
Tasks and responsibilities were assigned to the respective departments to ensure smooth coordination.
She announced that the mock drill will be conducted on Friday (May 16) at 10:30 am, at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.
On the other-hand, Jiribam district administration has notified the public that a district level Mock Drill - Operation Abhyaas will be conducted at the Jiribam Higher Secondary School ground at 2 pm on Friday.
As a part of the Mock Drill, there will be air raid warning sirens through police public address systems, activation of fire engine sirens, announcements via police patrol vehicles, blackout measures, search and rescue operations, casualty evacuation from the damaged buildings, temporary hospital setup, evacuation of civilians from endangered areas to bunkers, etc., and training of civilians on civil defence aspects to protect themselves in the event of a 'Hostile Attack'.
The drill will evaluate and enhance readiness in the event of hostile attack and ensure civil defence protocols are well understood and implemented effectively.
The public have been urged to remain calm and fully cooperate during the mock drill, stating that all activities are purely simulated and intended to strengthen disaster preparedness and public safety awareness.
The drill will be a collaborative effort involving police, Fire Services, central forces, departments under government of Manipur, NCC, NSS, NYK, Indian Red Cross Society, and local educational institutions.
