DIPR announces winners of Short Film Competition

Imphal, October 14 2025: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur, has announced the results of its Short Film Competition, 2025, held on the theme "Unity in Diversity.

Together We Stand Strong" .

The competition aimed to raise public awareness on pressing social issues through the power of visual storytelling.

Among the numerous entries received, three films stood out for their compelling narratives and cinematic excellence.

Sorenzan Vashum from Ukhrul bagged the first prize for "Unity Is A Beautify Sound", while Dinku Thingnam from Kakching Khunou clinched the second spot for "Ima" and Hidangmayum Universe Sharma from Heirok Part-II Bazar secured third for "Laman Natte" .

Additionally, consolation prizes were also awarded to two entries namely "We Are One" by Khangjrakpam Ajitkumar Singh from Keirembikhok Mayai Leikai and "Lichei (Stick)" by Kabrabam Kumarjit Singh from Champanagar, Jiribam.

All entries of the Short Film Competition were scrutinised and assessed by a committee comprising renowned film makers, subject experts and representatives of the Department.
